Balance Bot is a robot that balances! The project involved programming and design work to figure out a way to keep it upright.

What inspired you to create your project?

My mum had a stroke and afterwards had issues with her balance. I was inspired to come up with a programme to investigate balancing with robots. I wanted to challenge myself. 

Are you the first tech inventor in your family?

My dad sometimes makes things, and my sister won ASB Bright Sparks last year. So I’m not the only one in the family.

Who influences your tech/innovation?

My dad is into computers and builds DIY things from youtube. He’s inspired me with my inventions in the past.

What is your dream job?

My dream job would involve mechatronics engineering or standard engineering.

What is the best thing about ASB Bright Sparks to you?

The ASB Bright Sparks competition has no criteria, so you have the freedom to do whatever you want and you can make it at home.

Would you enter ASB Bright Sparks again?

Yes, I entered last year through school and would enter again.
