Do you have a Bright Spark in the family?

Does your child have a passion for technology?  Do they have an inventive or creative streak?  If so – you may have a Bright Spark in the family!  As a parent, you can nurture this passion by encouraging your child to get involved with Bright Sparks.

Nicholas Mabey was third in the 2010 Bright Sparks Competition

Because a lot of young people miss out on a hands-on introduction to electronics while they’re in schools, many never learn that they have a natural aptitude for electronics.  It’s important that we cultivate young people with a passion for electronics and technology, particularly when New Zealand needs to build a knowledge economy – not to mention that it’s a very lucrative field to get into!

Bright Sparks is about encouraging students to get their hands dirty and engage with hi-tech, developing their understanding of how the technology driving our world works, and to connect with others who are doing the same.

By becoming a Bright Spark your child will learn new skills, create inspired inventions, mix with some of the brightest students in the country, and be on track for a rewarding future in the hi-tech industry.
