Florian’s sun-seeking invention is highly effective and sensitive. Sensors and circuitry enable it to track the sun to maximise solar energy.
"The inspiration for this project came after talking to my Dad. Originally I wanted to make a light fitting that could be controlled using DMX512, a protocol used in the event lighting industry. That idea was too complex to execute in the required timeframe, so my Dad suggested something that could follow the sun, without needing to be controlled.
My favourite part of the project was when I started making the circuit boards and later put all of it together.
My 'dream job' would be working with an international company called PRG, which works in a number of countries and does a variety of jobs in the industry. For example, they are currently developing a lot of new technologies for the new Spider-Man musical in New York.
I am taking a gap year to get some experience in showbiz in Germany and to visit my family. After that I will return to study electrotechnology at CPIT."
