If milk contains water that’s been left in the pipes after cleaning, a farmer can be penalised in the supply process. That’s where Milk Quality comes in. The device uses an LDR and conductivity probe in the milk-line to measure conductivity and clarity during flushing of the pipes.

About 25 litres of milk needs to flow through the pipes after they’ve been cleaned with acid to remove any residue.  When readings have stabilised, a signal is sent to the farmer’s radio to let them know it’s safe to switch the milk flow into the vat.
