What to do when a courier arrives and you’re not home? Mobile Communicating Doorbell solves the problem by combining a doorbell with a mobile phone. The visitor simply presses a button and your cell is automatically dialed, so you can give instructions from wherever you are.
The best part of this project was having the opportunity to apply my research. It was great fun putting it all together and programming it to work, and seeing the final product was very rewarding.
Attaching the cellphone to the microcontroller took a bit of work! That was the most difficult part. It also took a lot of patience to research the various ways to connect the phone!
In the future I plan to study engineering at Auckland University. I want to be an engineer, and develop products that help people in their day-to-day lives.
