After learning that rainforests are massive climate regulators, the students at Te Kura Toitu o Te Whaiti Nui-a-Toi talked with scientists around the world who informed them about the sun's energy flows.

“We needed special science equipment to help understand the water and energy flows in our catchment, so we made it.

We assembled the weather station and put it into place.

Our solar powered IROX weather station and special laptop software store all readings every hour. It shares this and a webcam on the web.”
