Volcano Alarm System
Jonathan AbplanalpOpunake High School
Jonathan’s project is a volcano alarm system that has two sensors. The seismograph uses a piezoelectric sensor to measure the movement of the ground. The Tilt sensor measures the swelling of the ground caused by the magma rising to the vent. These are used for sensing earthquakes and volcanic activity. The alarm system will help warn people around the Taranaki to evacuate.
Jonathan won 3rd place in the 15-16 category, well done!
