The Braking Project
Maringi Paikea and Tammy TrippNgaruawahia High School
The goal of the Braking Project was to find a more efficient way of using electric bicycles. The project aimed to develop an electric-bicycle motor that recharges when the bicycle is not accelerating. Special coding was applied to turn the motor into a generator when the bicycle is coasting or braking, and the students explored ways of storing the extra power generated.
The Braking Project won 3rd place in Junior Environment, well done Maringi and Tammy!
